I am trying to help defeat Barney Frank in the 2010 election. I have begun by starting to volunteer for Earle Sholley, the conservative, Republican candidate for Congress here in the 4th District – that includes Wellesley, Newton, and New Bedford.

I would like to arrange for Earle to speak to your club next September. At this point, of course, I have no idea what his schedule will be, but would you be willing to have him speak and would your club be willing to help me pass out flyers?

If you are going to be graduating next spring, could you put me in contact with next year’s Republican Club leadership? Also, do you think that we might be able to get together in September with other college Republican clubs to move together toward the election?

Thanks for your help and for helping to save our country from the radical left. Below is a biography for Earle Sholley*

    Bob Gould

Dr. and Mrs. Robert S. Gould
    21 Elmwood Road
    Wellesley, MA 02481

I am a small businessman who owned a retail flower shop and garden center for several years. I was also the owner and manager of Grass Roots Lawn & Landscape Company for 24 years.
I graduated from the University of Scranton (1970) with a degree in history and the University of Massachusetts with a degree in plant and soil sciences. I was a tank commander in the U.S. Army and, additionally served in the Peace Corps.

I am proud of my roots as the son of an iron ore miner who worked hard as a union worker for Bethlehem Steel and who subsequently went on to work for the company in management. That gives me the unique perspective of both sides, the working man and the front office. My mom was a dedicated federal supervisor who taught me about honest public service, organization, and efficiency. I am the proud father of two successful daughters. We lost their mother to breast cancer in 2006.

I have dedicated my life over the past few years to public service as a delegate to the Republican party at both the state and national conventions supporting a better use of our tax dollars, fiscal responsibility, and a balanced budget at both the state and federal levels. I would like to stop the government’s undue pressure on banks to loan money to unqualified home buyers, backed by the rest of taxpayers. I would like to restore Glass-Steagall to prevent banks from participating in risky ventures that threaten our economy.

I would like to restore adherence to the principals of our Constitution, a limited national government with local control by the people. I would like to limit rather than expand the government’s intrusion into the lives of people. I would like to contribute to improving the economy by cutting taxes rather than raising them giving businesses the incentive to expand and people the control of their own money.

I promise that I will be the antithesis to Barney Frank, a free-spending, corrupt politician. I specifically reject Barney Frank’s unqualified support for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, two of the main reasons for our nation’s near economic collapse. I also reject and demand Congressional hearings into the White House’s communist tilt. My constituents may be liberal, but they do not want to destroy the very basis for our freedoms. Barney Frank, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Rahm Emmanuel, and Barack Obama want to destroy our very national identity. I am against nearly everything they stand for – higher taxes, government-run health care, and the undue influence of Acorn and its subsidiaries.

Where will I lead the Congress? The people of my district deserve to know how I will vote if I am chosen to represent them. Here it is, with no prevarication, no misrepresentation – in other words, no politics as usual.

I will vote to uphold the basic values of our Constitution as set forth by George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and, in the more recent past by Ronald Reagan. I am a conservative, not a “progressive”. I believe in free speech, not controlled media. I believe in individual free enterprise, not government control. I will vote for individual responsibility, not the nanny state.
Where does that leave me? Against socialized medicine and its public option; in favor of nationwide insurance options in place of state limits; in favor of tort reform – requiring the losing side in a civil case to pay the legal costs of the winner to minimize frivolous law suits.

I favor no more government bailouts of failed businesses. I absolutely demand lower taxes and lower spending for our federal government. Get the government out of our bedrooms, our media, and our pockets! We need to defend the dollar – not debase it. We need to encourage small business, not destroy it. I will not support raising our taxes to finance a corrupt system of cap & trade that has no legitimate purpose except to undermine our economy. How should we encourage our economy to grow? Give everyone a break in taxes and watch the revenues roll in as we expand our economy.

I demand more congressional oversight of an out-of control White House. It is time for Congressional hearings into the backgrounds and direction of the anti-American inhabitants of the White House. Do we really want to change the underlying character of our nation the way the current inhabitants of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue want? It’s time for a public referendum on change the Obama way. My candidacy gives the people of our district a chance to let their voices be heard. Follow me. We can save America!!

We must become energy independent soon, downsize government and make it more accountable, balance the budget, strengthen the dollar and reign in inflation, control our borders, defeat terrorism and keep Americans safe, bring the troops home as soon as possible, encourage savings, support and strengthen the family & the middle class, defend the sanctity and dignity of all human life, repair our infrastructure, put our own house in order, and keep jobs in America.

How should we become energy independent? By allowing local communities to direct energy development in their own areas whether it be with new nuclear energy plants, oil development in Anwar, or offshore oil drilling. It should not be the federal government that interferes, but local and state control. We should get the government out of the way of all innovative means of increasing our energy resources. No more should wealthy US senators block windpower developments off their seaside villas. Those decisions should be made by the citizens affected in the towns of Chatham and Hyannis and not by the federal government. If we let our people be free to fight our economic battles, we will see our nation grow and prosper.

I need your financial support, your help, and your prayers. All of America has a stake in this race. Please help our great nation win in November of 2010. Let’s clean House!
    Earl Sholley
